A Modern Approach to the Concert Classical Guitar
The Sylvia was developed for guitarists who want more from their instrument—not simply more volume, but greater response, clarity, balance and control.
At the heart of its design is an all-wood lattice-braced soundboard. This contemporary approach is intended to create a highly responsive top while retaining the natural character of wood throughout the bracing structure.
The European spruce soundboard complements this design with clarity, articulation and tonal definition. Spruce is particularly appreciated for its dynamic potential and its ability to continue developing with playing and age, allowing its voice to gain additional depth and complexity over time.
The Sylvia’s elevated neck provides improved access toward the upper register, while the integrated armrest enhances comfort and reduces direct contact between the player’s arm and the edge of the soundboard. A soundport provides the guitarist with a more immediate connection to the instrument’s voice while playing.
Despite its performance-oriented construction, the Sylvia remains exceptionally light at approximately 1.5 kg / 3.4 lbs, contributing to the lively, responsive feel that defines the instrument.

In addition to the standard 650 mm scale with 52 mm nut width, the De Cascia Sylvia can be specially ordered with:

- Left-handed configuration
These options allow players to choose an instrument better suited to their individual technique, hand size and playing comfort without leaving the Sylvia platform.
